Labor Leadership Woes

Another day, yet again, brings bad news for Labor,
As it finds another way to fall back on its sabre,
The problem this time, is its leader - Mark Latham,
They've found, by and large, that Australians just hate him.

So they've chosen to try a new leader, to prove,
to Australia, that Labor are still in the groove,
But this time around, there's quite a long queue,
from leaders of old, to those who are new.

One contender, whose chances are are not nearly measly,
Is the jovial and bubbly behemoth - Kim Beazley,
Who's been around the block, all of two times before,
And looks set to throw in his bid for another round more.

A second player whose chances are in high regard,
Is Labors own hotness, one Julia Gillard,
Whilst her mind is firmly set on the top job, you'll find,
We males, firmly thinking of her, have another job in mind.

Another who's keen to spill Latham's blood,
Is the normally sober and staid Mr Rudd,
Who comes across to Australia as a bit of a bore,
Perfect, if you consider who we've just voted for.

Among all the others, there's Swan and there's Smith,
Who're jostling for place, in fourth and in fifth,
They'll get their turns quite shortly, no doubt,
as Labor can't stay long away from a leadership bout.

What fun this must be for the Liberals and Howard,
Who've, in the last decade, completely devoured,
The Labor Party, whose newfound disposition,
Is to unfortunately remain in eternal opposition.
